Notable Hospitality Experience

Hurricane Damage Recovery for Hotels

Managed the recovery work for nine hotels and three restaurants immediately after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans. The largest being over 700 guest-rooms plus convention, meeting, dining and kitchen facilities. (Interviewed on the Today Show for work performed.) This quickly gave the owners partial operations and returned them back to full operations several weeks sooner than anticipated allowing them to generate revenue more quickly than anticipated and more quickly than many competitor facilities. This was accomplished largely due to our strict processes and coordination of activities in several locations simultaneously.

Downtown Luxury Hotel

When a Platinum LEED certified luxury hotel had some extensive water damage just prior to its grand opening, we responded immediately to mitigate damages, dry the building and then decontaminate it. All this was performed in time to meet their opening date and retain their Platinum LEED certification.

Marquis High-rise Hotel

When the wind and rain effects of a major storm took out the entire windward side of the 30+ story hotel. We had to secure the entire building and premises, then bring power to building and build containments to start the demolition and loss mitigation process. We then began the drying, abatement and decontamination processes in preparation for reconstruction. This property has since resumed its standing as a top hotel in the downtown district.

Large Downtown Hotel

Several building envelope issues combined with building pressurization problems caused wide-spread water damage and microbial contamination in large, heavy-use hotel. We were brought in to identify the causes and effects of these problems and create a work plan that would correct the problems. We worked with the owner’s contractor to successfully correct all problems and performed this without cutting into their existing business.
